Dr. Meredith Scott
President
Hi, I’m Dr. Meredith Scott and I’m your 2025-2026 Texas Association of Orthodontists president, and I’d like to welcome our new board members this year. We have Dr. Sheela Kudchadker and Dakota Miller. In addition we still have our immediate past president Dr. Ralph Brock to help us out.
As the TAO, our mission is to maintain the highest standards of orthodontic care for the benefit and well-being of our patients throughout the state of Texas. We are also dedicated to advocating for our members and providing services that benefit their pursuit of professional excellence.
I’d like to remind you as well that being a member of the TAO allows for additional professional development, opportunities for collaboration, opportunities to advocate for laws affecting patients and the profession, access to member resources, exposure through the TAO directory and social media, networking opportunities at events or by serving on committees, and to contribute to the collective advancement of the profession.
One of the ways that TAO is working for our members this year is by organizing the first-ever TAO Continuing Education conference happening February 27th in Houston.
This event provides Texas orthodontists the opportunity to earn CE credits, learn from the best, and strengthen relationships within the Texas Orthodontic Community.
The event will be February 27th, 2026, at Cooley University Life Center at UT Health Houston at 9 am to 3:30 pm, breakfast and lunch included. Our speakers are Dr. Juan Martin Polomo talking about “Sleep Apnea in a Busy Orthodontic Office,” and Dr. Sercan Akyalcin with “The Future of Orthodontic Practice from MARPE to 3D-Printed Customized Appliances.”
