After receiving his dental degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio Dental School, Dr. Roy Gonzalez, Jr. completed his orthodontic training at Eastman Dental Center in Rochester, New York, where he was awarded a Fellowship for his research on children with facial birth defects, as well as his Master of Science degree. He has been a practicing orthodontist for more than 25 years.

Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics (less than 10% of all orthodontists are Board Certified). He is also a board member of the Cleft Palate/Craniofacial Team at Methodist Hospital and Children's Hospital of San Antonio (Santa Rosa). He is the only orthodontist in San Antonio that has been granted privileges in both hospitals.

Dr. Roy Gonzalez, Jr. is frequently recognized as a “Super Dentist” in Texas Monthly magazine and locally in San Antonio Scene magazine as a “Top Dentist” in the orthodontic community. He has also been recognized as one of “America’s Top Dentists” by the Consumer Research Council of America.
