Dr. Larry Layfield is a diplomate of The American Board of Orthodontics. He earned both his dental degree and his specialty certificate from the Louisiana State University Medical Center School of Dentistry.  During his academic career, he earned several scholarships, over 15 awards, gained membership in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the distinguished Dental Honor Society, and received the Chancellor’s Outstanding Student Award upon his graduation from dental school.  Dr. Layfield is a published researcher, being named a National Science Foundation Undergraduate Research Scholar in 1990 for his DNA research, and publishing articles concerning his research during his dental and orthodontic training
